MIDDLE SCHOOL: SAT PREPARATION

Would you like your child to be one of those students whom you read about in the newspapers because they scored a perfect score on the SAT? The secret is to begin practicing now. Time and time again we have seen our students who practiced extensively during our SAT prep class be awarded the highest of scores on the SAT. What you may not realize is that your child can do this, too, if he/she simply begins practicing at such a young age that by the time he/she takes the SAT in high school, it has become a simple habit. It is a proven fact that the more one practices this exam, the better one scores.

Middle school students are at an advantage with the SAT essay because they have the luxury of learning and perfecting their writing skills long before they will write for the SAT essay exam. As practice truly does make perfect, these techniques will come in handy for not only SAT, but for all classes as well. The verbal portion of the SAT is graded partially on a subjective grading system, as now essay writing has been added and people (not computers) will be grading that part of the exam. Who is to say that one grader won’t have a differing opinion from the next? Does your child’s SAT score depend upon which essay grader you have? The best defense is to simply develop solid writing skills that will be approved by any type of quality grader. Developed by Educational Advantage Director, Deborah Wallack (MA and Ph.D. studies in English), this writing class will teach and sharpen all writing skills and levels specifically for this exam.

CLASSES

Low student/tutor ratio: Classes will be small group (2-10 students) in order to ensure personalized programs.

Convenience: Citywide classes offered 7 days/week during days and evenings. You choose the schedule and location! We will come toward you!

Private Tutoring: In addition to group classes, private tutoring is also available in all subjects for all ages ($43/hour). All classes may be taken as private sessions.

Classes are split into 2 sessions (Summer Sessions I and II) and offered in short time periods (5 days each) so as not to interrupt family vacations, camps, etc.

Classes are offered separately for high school and middle school students.

Class schedule options:

• Choose Your Own Dates: Students may request schedules (start date, days, times) which match their own convenience (and that of their friends if they form their own group).
• Regularly Scheduled Dates: Students may register for classes already scheduled with set days/times.
